ICT 2.0.1 AV Standards Addenda and Updates
2.3: 6.9 Cameras
Note: System integral Cisco PTZ cameras shall generally be connected (optionally via an
approved HDbaseT extender as set out in the Standard as required) directly to codec camera
inputs and not indirectly via a vision switch except where authorized by the DeS AV and
Networks Unit Leader.
Tracking cameras are currently being evaluated for use as the rear camera (camera 2) in
teaching spaces (AV06, AV07, AV08) for videoconference and iLecture dual capture
applications. Please contact the DeS AV and Networks Unit Leader for further information for
further information as regards appropriate Vaddio components to use.
2.3: 9.1.3 Session types
Multiway (PABX-style multi-party user-initiated dialout) supported by the central MCU is
currently not deployed at Deakin. Please contact the DeS AV and Networks Unit Leader for
further information.
2.3: 11.1.3 LED lighting
RGB LED lighting has not yet been evaluated for suitability in conjunction with
videoconferencing technology and are not yet approved for this application. It is possible that
the RGB centre wavelengths of the LEDs do not align with those of the videoconference camera
image sensor, potentially leading to excessive colour imbalance.
Phosphor-LED lighting: The Standard currently provides best available preliminary information
only. Some specifications listed are subject to further study as noted in the Standard.
All LED lighting should be tested in situ via a Cisco PHD videoconference camera prior to
installation. Please contact the DeS AV and Networks Unit Leader for further information.
2.3: 11.7 Table layouts
Diagrams at section 11.7 do not depict all of the currently acceptable configurations. Please
refer to ICT Resource 2.7.3 Microphone Placement for a wider range of table layouts.
